WHAT TO EXPECT
Day 1 – Mild to moderate redness and swelling, similar to sunburn. No sunscreen or makeup is to be worn.
Day 2 – Some persistent redness and swelling may be present. You may apply sunscreen or makeup.
Day 3 – Most redness, bruising and swelling will have subsided.
Day 4 – Skin will return to normal appearance.
EXPECTATIONS
Treatment is usually painless or with a slight discomfort. Immediately after the treatment has been performed you may get any of the following:
- Redness due to initial inflammation, This is normal and part of the healing process. The area may also be slightly raised.
- You may get a small dry scab, do not pull or pick at it. Allow it to come away itself.
- Itching may occur. Usually within a few minutes of treatment. It usually only lasts a few minutes but may last up to half an hour. It is due to the release of histamine and is totally normal in a treatment of this kind.
- Blisters may form with any treatment to the skin and can happen to anyone. Any blisters which do form may last just a few hours or a few days dependant on the area that has been treated. Blistering may occur after treatment of any type of lesion. Blistering will not affect the outcome of the treatment.
- If blistering does occur DO NOT POP THE BLISTER. It will go down on it own. Should it burst, use an alcohol free wipe to clean the area, apply a smear of antiseptic cream. It may also be covered with a plaster/dressing.
AFTER THE TREATMENT:
- Do not pick or scratch the treated area. This will cause it to take longer to heal and may damage the skin.
- Do not use scrubs or exfoliators on the area as this will damage the skin.
GENERAL HEALING EXPECTATIONS:
- Most healing is straight forward and occurs without problems.
- Most healing will take place in 4-6 weeks, however it may sometimes take longer than this, as all skin varies and can take longer to regenerate.
- Any treatments that take longer than 6 weeks to heal may need to be reviewed by your GP or clinic nurse.
- If your immune system is compromised you may still have the treatment but healing may take longer and you may require further treatment.
- If the area treated is tanned, the treatment will remove the tanning and the skin will need to repigment to the tanned colour. The small dry crusting that forms should come away after 4 weeks if not please wait until it has done so before contacting the clinic.
- During the healing time you may shower/bathe as normal and use your usual cosmetics, including makeup, deodorants and creams.
- Do not apply make up on the area treated for at least 12 hours, unless it is provided by the DMK practitioner
- Do not sunbathe or use a sun bed for at least 14 days following treatment
- Do not scratch or in any way abrade the area after treatment
- Seba-E oil MUST be applied as an after-care prescriptive. Use twice daily. If excessive heat or irritation is experienced after the alkaline wash treatment, then Contraderm crème should be applied to calm it down with ice (in Gauze) if necessary.
- DMK transdermal sunscreen should be used daily following treatment
- Treatments should be a minimum of 7 days apart but ideally at least 14-days apart.
- Redness, dryness and some scabbing may occur after treatment, all of which are normal reactions and clear up in a few days.
- 5 days before electrolysis is performed post treatment and 14 days for laser

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT:
To get the best results from your lash lift, it’s best to not wear any waterproof mascara, eye serums or any other oily products around the eye area for 48 hours before your appointment. Oily products can absorb deeply into the lashes and this would affect the lash lifts final result.
Please don’t wear any eye make up to your appointment, this is so important as mascara can often be difficult to remove and will affect the final result. You may be asked to reschedule your appointment if you arrive with eye makeup on.
If you wear contact lens please bring glasses with you to your appointment as this treatment cannot be done with contact lens in.

AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT:
You must keep your lashes dry for 24 hours after the treatment. Water can affect the bonds of the lashes while they are still setting and add weight to the lashes causing the lashes to drop.
You must avoid coming into contact with steam (like when you open the oven door) for 48 hours, steam can interfere with the bonds for a longer period of time due to the added heat to the water. Avoiding steam will ensure your lift lasts and doesn’t drop
Avoid rubbing your eyes for 48 hours after the treatment, this can cause the lashes to set is a criss-crossed position and will give a messy look to the lashes.
After 24 hours, we recommend you use Lash & Brow Elixir nightly to promote healthy lash growth and keep your lashes in top condition.
